View my complete profile My name is Diane Shepard Johnson and my daughter Sarah and I have always loved old fashioned things. We find Tasha Tudor and Beatrix Potter so inspiring. Some of our favorite things and interests are: spinning, weaving, natural dyeing of fiber and yarn, knitting, bobbin lace making, vegetable, herb and flower gardening, old fashioned clothing and frocks, dolls, the old ways of preparing food, canning, corgyn, bunnies, goats, birds, photography, writing, drawing and painting, the old ways of living and old fashioned tasks. The Corgyncombe Courant is our newspaper of some of the highlights of life at Corgyncombe Cottage. Courant is an old term for newspaper.

A lovely antique quilt on display in Diane's garden of herbs. There are birds amongst the vines along the border.
The quilt reminds Diane of the quilts that Diane's great grandmother's cousin Lena made. As with Lena's quilts, the quilting is done with very tiny, neat stitches.
Yellow Warbler
Dame's Rocket grows wild along Corgi Creek and as eveningtide approaches it fills the air with a sweet Hyacinth-like scent. It is one of Diane's favorite flowers and comes in white, pink, and lavender.
In Thornton Burgess' "The Burgess Bird Book for Children", Peter Rabbit observed Goldy the Baltimore Oriole in the apple tree. Peter "never had seen any one more beautifully dressed and his song was as rich and beautiful as his coat."
A trug filled with lilacs, forget- me-nots, and bleeding heart.
